How we work

A complete engineering company, run by undergrads

Aerodynamicists run CFD and validate in wind tunnels. The electronics team designs custom motor controllers and battery management systems from the PCB up. The mechanical team lays up carbon fiber monocoques by hand. Operations handles sponsorships, logistics, and competition strategy.

Members, including first-years, don't watch. They own.

/ Aero

Aerodynamics & Structures

CFD simulation, wind tunnel testing, FEA simulation, mold design, and carbon fiber layup.

/ Elec

Electronics & Communications

Custom motor controllers, power management, telemetry, and firmware. If it carries current, this team designed it

/ Mech

Powertrain & Vehicle Dynamics

Steering, braking, wheels, drivetrain, and anything that moves. All mass-optimized through simulation.

/ Ops

Operations & Outreach

Sponsor relations, budgeting, competition logistics, and telling the team's story.

Why students choose DEV

Real hardware, first semester

New members machine parts, populate PCBs, and lay up carbon within weeks of joining.

A résumé line that starts conversations

Alumni have gone on to top engineering companies and graduate programs, and have published peer-reviewed papers on our vehicles.

Every major welcome

Mechanical, electrical, CS, physics, environmental science, public policy: an efficient car needs aerodynamicists and accountants. No prior experience required; we teach everything.
